My favourite creative read

Years ago while visiting New York with some of my girlfriends, one of them picked up a magazine and asked if knew of it ?

That was my first introduction to this very special publication. My friend then subscribed to Uppercase and would let me borrow hers. I poured over these, enjoying seeing all the wonderful inspiring creativity within. I also felt encouraged, there were others out there like me, busy working away, making a creative life for themselves too.

Then not long after this my lovely friend encouraged me submit to Uppercase by helping me sort and edit my words.

Since then, I have submitted a bunch more times (https://www.saskiadesigns.com/contact) and now have my own subscription !

The interesting questions always get me thinking, delving into how I work, why I work etc. They have really helped me articulate more when I do communicate though writing. This is so valuable as I find this really hard to do on a good day !

Check out Uppercase if you haven’t seen already. It’s Canadian, Independent for the past 10 years, covers internationally, is socially and environmentally conscious, and Janine Vangool (the publisher, editor, designer behind it all) does a really amazing job of collecting, sorting and bringing together such diverse creativity and content that is always inspiring and a joy to see.

I love to take a tea break and sit down with something good to feed my curiosity…
