I love to share the knowledge and experience that I‘ve gathered over a lifetime of working with textiles.
My pure enthusiasm is at the heart of my approach. I enjoy creating a welcoming, supportive and positive environment for all ages and levels.
Since 1995 I have taught workshops and classes to groups and individuals of all ages. From private lessons and small groups in my studio, to organisations, at events in the wider community and within educational institutions such as Sheridan College in Oakville.
My teaching skills have grown with the range and variety of people and places I have taught. I enjoy offering classes tailored to suit each student, group, level and ability.

Individual Stitch Workshop
This is a private one-and-a-half-hour stitch lesson tailored to and booked at a time to suit you.
I teach a variety of textile skills; hand embroidery, sewing machine skills, and free-machine embroidery. I help you move forward from wherever you are in your learning by providing support, encouragement and expertise tailored to your interest and level of experience.
Here are a few examples of the possibilities:
Never tried embroidery before? I can get you started with hand embroidery, teaching you the skills to continue with more confidence and knowledge.
Learn to use a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool (free machine or free motion embroidery). It's a chance to get familiar with your sewing machine, develop your sewing skills, and get stitching creatively with expert help on hand.
Have a sewing machine that you want to use but no idea where to start? I can teach you what you need to know to make that all much easier and fun.
You have tried embroidery and want to expand your skills and learn more, I have extensive expertise that I am happy to share.
You are thinking about getting a sewing machine and would like to learn more about what you might need first? You are welcome to use my machine for the lesson if you do not own your own machine yet. Gain insights that will help you learn what you might need.

- No prior experience is needed, all levels welcome.
- The lesson fee includes materials.
- Gift Certificates are available upon request.
- My studio is in the High Park area of Toronto.
- Lessons can be scheduled during daylight hours to suit all.

Stitched Birds Workshop

July 28th-August 1st.
Learn how to use your basic domestic sewing machine as a creative, free stitching drawing tool through making unique bird inspired works in textiles. Emphasis is on developing skills and ideas at your own pace and level within a playful and supportive environment with a bird sewing expert and enthusiast.

Enchanted Birds Workshop
Saturday November 1st 2025
56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke.
10am- 4pm
Join me for a joyful day focusing on creating colourful and playful textile birds. Explore free stitching with your basic domestic sewing machine to add texture, pattern and unique embellishments.
Learn construction techniques as you create your own unique birds.
Lots of inspiration and help will be on hand as we delve into my favourite subject through embroidery and stitch.
This class is suitable for beginners and advanced levels who wish to further develop their sewing machine skills.
You will need to bring your sewing machine in working order. If you are unsure if your machine is suitable, please email me anytime to discuss this further.
Starter Material Kit included
I will provide a list of suggested supplies and notions etc to bring along after registration.
Cancellation Policy
A refund can be provided if requested before September 15th. After this date, class fees are non refundable. Student places are transferable.
