Early ideas that began in isolation…

I like being resourceful with life’s leftovers. It’s a family trait and over the years, I have made all sorts of things out of repurposed clothing. I have this vivid memory of my mum making me a nurses head cover while out at sea. My dad was a merchant seaman, we would visit and travel with him for weeks at a time. I even learnt to walk at sea. Below is an illustration of how my mum adapted one of his shirts into one of my favourite dress up accessories.

Now that the weather is warmer I’m enjoying hanging my washing outside again. I made this simple clothes peg bag out of a shirt and wire coat hanger. Your cotton shirts and t-shirts would make good fabric face masks too If you like the ideas above feel free to share the blog with family and friends :)
