This baby bird ornament  is made from repurposed, up-cycled and felted wools that had been colourful clothing in their previous lives. I love finding new ways of using the things we discard by creating something special to be enjoyed a new.

I start by making the bird form and filling it with raw wool stuffing. I then begin the decorative hand embroidery working intuitively onto the surface creating a unique mix of stitched embellishment. 

Each bird is a unique combination inspired by nature and my love of birds. They can be used all year as well as for special occasions. I love to have a few flying around my home. 

The bird measures approximatley 4” , beak to tail, x 2.5” x 1” plus  a 3” hanging loop in natural suede.
