This fanciful composition brings together some of my favourite inspirations. I love observing and drawing birds and historic tiles, in this piece the work of William de Morgan.  

The dark blue linen ground is embroidered freely with thread by hand and using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool, building up the textures, patterns and details in the embroidery. 

This original artwork measures 5” x 7” and is mounted within a 10"x 12" acid free mat ready for the frame of your choice.
