This fanciful composition brings together some of my favourite inspirations; observing and drawing birds and teacups. 

The NZ Fantail is a favourite bird I love to draw and embroider, imagining her making a nest for her new family. 

Bright and metallic threads are embroidered onto an appliquéd silk ground using my basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool. I stitch freely over the surface to create a rich texture, image and details.

The 5”x 5” free form embroidery is stitched onto an acid free mat and framed within a contemporary white wood frame, ready to hang.
