This fanciful composition brings together some of my favourite inspirations. I love observing and drawing birds and historic tiles, in this piece the work of William de Morgan.  

The white linen quilted ground is embroidered freely with thread by hand and using a basic domestic sewing machine as a drawing tool, building up the textures, patterns and details in the embroidery. 

This original circular artwork measures 3.25” across and is mounted onto a 6"x 6" acid free mat and contemporary white wood frame, ready to hang.
