This work is a stitched drawing made from sketches I did while in the Provence village of Bonnieux, France. I loved seeing all the clay rooftops, chimneys and greenery across such a picturesque landscape. From the hilltop, I tried to capture something of the view that inspired me. 

White linen is embroidered freely with blue cotton thread using a basic domestic sewing machine as my drawing tool. Shown here is the work in progress, always lots of loose ends to tidy!  

The 3-3/8”x 5-1/4” embroidery is mounted within an acid free mat surround ready for a 8“x 10” frame of your choice.
